Registering a WebLogic Server


Providing configuration information that defines your Oracle WebLogic Server environment to the PATROL monitoring environment includes registering the WebLogic environment.

This section provides instructions for registering WebLogic 11.x, 10.x, and 9.x Server .

To register a WebLogic environment

  1. Choose WebLogic > KM Commands > Register WebLogic Server. The Register WebLogic environment dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following figure:

  2. In Host/IP, enter the host name or IP address of a local or remote host. IP addresses can be in the IPv4 or IPv6 format.
  3. In Port, enter the port number on which the WebLogic Server is listening. The default port number is 7001.
  4. In Protocol, select the protocol for monitoring WebLogic Server from the available list:
    • T3: For unsecure WebLogic Server
    • T3S with one way SSL: For secure WebLogic Server
    • T3S with two way SSL: For secure WebLogic Server
  5. (Optional) In WebLogic User Name, enter the WebLogic Server administration user name.
  6. (Required only if you enter a WebLogic user name in the preceding step) In Password, enter the password for the WebLogic Server account.
  7. Enable Monitor admin server as standalone option if you want to monitor WebLogic admin server as managed server and not as full domain.
  8. Enter the following certificate details:
    1. Server Trust Keystore Path: Enter the fully qualified path to the trust keystore for one way SSL and two way SSL. The default value is DemoTrust.
      If you select the default value, DemoTrust as the Server Keystore Path, then trusted CA certificates will be loaded from the WL_HOME\server\lib\DemoTrust.jks directory.
    2. Keystore Filename: Specify the key store file name for two way SSL connections.
    3. Keystore Password: Specify the key store password for two way SSL connections.
    4. Certificate Key Alias: Specify the certificate key alias for two way SSL connections.
    5. Certificate Key Password: Specify the certificate password alias for two way SSL connections.
  9. In WebLogic setup script field,enter the WebLogic local script (path and script name).
  10. In Local WebLogic Administrator OS Account field, enter the local administration OS account user name of the local installation of WebLogic.
  11. In Local WebLogic Administrator OS Password filed, enter  the local administration OS password of the local installation of WebLogic.

    Warning

    Note

    If the Local WebLogic Administrator OS Account and Local WebLogic Administrator OS Password fields are left blank, the PATROL Admin account is used. You can use any OS account that has recursive read/execute permissions to the WebLogic Home and JAVA Home directories.

  12. In Collection level, select of the following option for collecting data:
    • Server and application availability : Only the availability server status and application parameters will collect data.
    • General health: Availability status parameters, Thread Pools application class parameters, and Server Resources application class parameters will collect data.
    • Full data monitoring: All the parameters will collect data.
    • Custom data monitoring: You can choose application class parameters for collecting data
  13. If you have selected the Custom option in the previous step, the Custom Groups dialog box is displayed as shown in the figure. In the Custom Groups dialog box, select one or more custom collection options.

    Warning

    Note

    If you select the Custom option and do not enable any of the check boxes in the Custom Groups dialog box, then PATROL for Oracle WebLogic will collect the data according to the Server and application availability option.

  14. (Optional) In the PATROL Defined ID (optional)  text box, enter the PATROL defined ID.
  15. Click OK.
