The terminate process recovery action attempts to stop a process when the Processor Time (PROCProcessorTimePercent) parameter is in an alarm state for a specified amount of time.

Before you begin

Before you can configure the terminate process recovery action, you must have enabled this recovery action when you configured the monitoring of the process. For more information, see Configuring manual process monitoring.

To configure the recovery action that terminates a runaway process

  1. Access the KM menu of the host application as described in Accessing KM menu commands.
  2. Choose the KM menu command Configure Recovery Actions.
  3. From the list of available recovery actions in the Registered Recovery Actions dialog, select the Terminate Process recovery action.
    The Recovery Action Instances dialog box displays the processes that you are monitoring that have the terminate process recovery action enabled.
  4. Highlight the process and click Edit.
  5. From the Configure Recovery Action dialog, select the desired options.
  6. To save your changes, click Accept.
