Configuring trace options for debugging
If you encounter certain problems using this KM, BMC Support might request that you configure trace options for debug purposes.
To enable and configure trace options at the application level
- Choose PATROL Admin > Configure Trace Options from either the Performance Counter Wizard (NT_PERMON_WIZARD) or WMI Wizard (NT_WMI) application menus. The Configure Trace Options - Application Classes dialog box displays.
- In the Application Class list, click the application class for which you want trace debug enabled.
- Click Trace status ON to enable trace debug for the selected applications.
- In the Output destination field, choose WINDOW to display the trace information to a window or choose FILE to send the trace information to a file.
- Click Apply to active your changes.
- Click Exit to close the dialog box.
To enable and configure trace options at the parameter level
- Choose PATROL Admin > Configure Trace Options from either the NT_PERMON_COUNTER or NT_WMI_PARAMETER application menus. The Configure Trace Options - Parameters dialog box displays.
- In the Parameter list, click the parameters for which you want trace debug enabled.
- Click Trace status ON to enable trace debug for the selected parameters.
- In the Output destination field, choose WINDOW to display the trace information to a window or choose FILE to send the trace information to a file.
- Click Apply to active your changes.
- Click Exit to close the dialog box.
