Warning

By default, thresholds such as the Border rangeAlarm1 range, and Alarm2 range are disabled for all parameters.

Configuring Edge Server monitoring

The Add Monitor Types dialog box enables you to monitor the performance of Edge Server when you select Exchange Edge Server as the monitor type. For more information, see Configuring monitoring settings.

User Name
Enter the domain user name that is used to access the Exchange server, directory, user mailboxes, and messaging subsystems. Domain user name in the following format: domain\username.Verify that this account meets the following requirements
  • Member of domain user account
  • Member of the local Administrators group
  • Exchange View Only Organization Management.
Password
Enter a valid password.
Confirm Password
To confirm, enter the password again.
Monitor log
Enable this option to save the MSEXCHCmdlet(yyymmdd).TXT log file in the %PATROL_HOME%\bin directory.
Add
Click this option to add the monitor type under the list of Defined Monitor Types and Attributes on the Monitor Configuration tab.
Close
Click this option to close the Add Monitor Types dialog box without saving any changes.
Reset
Click this option to clear off your configuration and revert to default settings.
