Enhancements

BMC TrueSight Reporting 9.6.00 offers the following enhancements:

Support for SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.1 SP3 Patch 3 (BMC Reporting Foundation)

BMC TrueSight Reporting now supports SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Service Pack 3 Patch 3. BMC Reporting Foundation uses SAP® BusinessObjects™ Enterprise.  You can obtain BMC Reporting Foundation version 4.1 from the Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. The BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1 documentation at BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1.00 Online Documentation. The procedures in this documentation portal have been updated to reflect support for the new version.

Support for IPv6

BMC TrueSight Reporting now provides support for IPv6. That is, BMC TrueSight Reporting can communicate over both IPv6 connections and IPv4 connections. The following components support IPv6:

  • BMC TrueSight Report Engine
  • BMC Reporting Foundation

Internet Protocol helper (IP helper) service is required for installing BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1 in a pure IPv6 environment on Microsoft Windows platform. Start the IP helper service before installing.

BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1 does not support pure IPv6 environment on Solaris platform.

Support for operating systems

BMC TrueSight Reporting 9.6.00 now supports the following operating systems. For more information, see System requirements

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Datacenter 64 bit
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter 64 bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 64 bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 64 bit

Support for BMC Analytics for BSM version 8.1

BMC TrueSight Reporting 9.6.00 now supports BMC Analytics for BSM version 8.1.

Support for Oracle Database 12c

BMC TrueSight Reporting 9.6.00 supports Oracle 12.1.0.1.0 (Enterprise and Standard Edition) pluggable database. For more information, see System requirements.

Downloading the installation files

BMC Software products are generally distributed by way of the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site. This section contains instructions for downloading the BMC TrueSight Report Engine and SAP BusinessObjects installation files from the EPD website.

  1. Create a temporary directory on your computer for the product installation files.
  2. Go to the  Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website Open link .
  3. Enter your BMC Support account user ID and password, and then click Submit.
  4. Click Download Product.
  5. On the Export Compliance and Access Terms page, provide the required information, agree to the terms of the agreements, and click Continue.
  6. If you are accessing the EPD site for the first time, create an EPD profile to specify the language(s) and platform(s) that you want to see; otherwise, skip to the next step. For information about EPD profiles, see the Profile section of the Help page for the EPD website.
  7. In the Components view, verify that the correct profile is displayed for your download purpose, and click the Licensed Products tab.
  8. Based on your license entitlement, scroll down, select Performance Management, and click Go. Alternatively, use the Filter Products control in the tab to search for the product. 
  9. In the right pane, navigate to BMC TrueSight Reporting.
  10. Click the Products tab, select 9.6.00 from the Version list, select the required platform, and click Go.
  11. Downloading the following files.
    1. To download BMC Reporting Foundation, select the check boxes next to the following files, for your operating system:

    2. To download BMC TrueSight Report Engine installation files, select Solution Reports - BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management 9.6.00 with BRF 4.1 for your operating system.
  12. Click Download (FTP) or Download Manager:
    • Download (FTP) places the selected items in an FTP directory, and the credentials and FTP instructions are sent to you by email.
    • Download Manager enables you to download multiple files consecutively, and to resume an interrupted download if the connection drops.
      This method requires a one-time installation of the Akamai NetSession Client program on the target computer and is usually the faster and more reliable way to transfer files. A checksum is used to verify file integrity automatically.
