TrueSight Operations Management Reporting is an advanced reporting platform. It uses the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise product as the host for TrueSight Operations Management to administer and publish reports. It also uses Oracle or SQL Server as the application database.

TrueSight Operations Management systems propagate events and component status changes from TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server to the TrueSight Report Engine. The TrueSight Report Engine then aggregates and summarizes the events and component status changes, and stores the processed data in the Reporting Database. The impact reports are supplemented with associated service information.

The following figure depicts the architecture of TrueSight Operations Management Reporting with port numbers used by the respective components:

For information about deployment scenarios, see Deployment architecture.

TrueSight Operations Management Reporting consists of the following components:

  • TrueSight Infrastructure Management
  • Reporting database
  • TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine
  • BMC Reporting Foundation
  • SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
  • BI Launch Pad

TrueSight Infrastructure Management

TrueSight Infrastructure Management is an integrated platform that combines event management and data analytics (including baselines, abnormality detection, and Root Cause Analysis algorithms) in a single seamless solution. Event management provides a real-time solution for proactive detection and resolution of IT problems before they have an impact on critical IT systems. Data analytics provide the ability to combine information associated with an area of interest and drill down into specific details. The goal of data analytics is to provide a research facility to better understand, tune, and modify the selected area.
Events, their statuses, and other related event messages in the TrueSight Infrastructure Management environment are represented in the Operations Console. For more information, see the online technical documentation for  TrueSight Infrastructure Management . Open link

Reporting database

TrueSight Operations Management Reporting Database acts as a central repository for all the event, impact, and performance data for one or multiple TrueSight Report Engines. The Reporting Database can be either Oracle or SQL Server databases. For information about Reporting database high-level schema details, see Reporting database high level schema details.

TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine

TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine is a java application that receives event, impact, and performance data from TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. The Report Engine periodically summarizes events, impact, and performance data in the Reporting database according to the reporting needs.

BMC Reporting Foundation

BMC Reporting Foundation provides the base on which BMC reporting systems and solutions are built. BMC Reporting Foundation uses SAP® BusinessObjects™ Enterprise. BMC Reporting Foundation does not include the database that contains the data used in the reports.

SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise

SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise is a third-party business intelligence system used by BMC Reporting Foundation. It provides infrastructure for reporting, including portal, scheduler, and administration facilities. SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Central Management Server (CMS) is responsible for maintaining a database of information about your BusinessObjects Enterprise system. The data stored by the CMS includes information about users and groups, security levels, BusinessObjects Enterprise content, and servers. The CMS also maintains the BusinessObjects Enterprise Repository and information about user actions.

For more information and registration, visit the SAP BusinessObjects Indirect Client Knowledge Center.

BI Launch Pad

TrueSight Operations Management Reporting uses the SAP BusinessObjects BI Launch Pad web client to view, generate, and save reports. Using a browser, you can view reports and store them in a common area in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise CMS repository database, or you can store them in a personal area that only you can access. BI Launch Pad also provides search tools to locate saved reports. For details, see Using reports.
