This section contains information about Infrastructure Management Command Line Interface (CLI) commands.

The Infrastructure Management Command Line Interface provides:

  • An alternative to using the Administrator Console for Infrastructure Management setup operation.
  • The ability to perform diagnostics on your system.

The Infrastructure Management Command Line Interface (CLI) must be launched before running any of the Infrastructure Management CLI commands. For help on how to display the CLI, see Accessing the Command Line Interface. It is helpful to be familiar with Windows command interpreter, UNIX, and shell commands when using the CLI.

All Infrastructure Management CLIs can be used for the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. Some Infrastructure Management CLIs can be used with the Integration Service. Commands that can be used with the Integration Service will be noted specifically in the individual command description.

Note

On a BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server running on Solaris or Linux, run the mcell and pserver commands in a shell separate from the shell in which you run the pw CLI commands.
