Configuring RabbitMQ for VMware vCloud Director


To enable VMware vCloud Director consuming in Infrastructure Management, you must configure RabbitMQ for vCloud Director. RabbitMQ is a messaging application that gives your applications a common platform to send and receive messages. For more information, see www.rabbitmq.com.

vCloud Director can send notifications using the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) present in RabbitMQ. Infrastructure Management listens to RabbitMQ for changes in the cloud topology and these changes are reflected in the operator console. To enable this communication, you must configure RabbitMQ for vCloud Director.

Note

Configuring RabbitMQ is a prerequisite to integrate Infrastructure Management with vCloud Director.

To configure RabbitMQ for vCloud Director, you must:

  1. Create a topic exchange using the RabbitMQ management console
  2. Enable notifications for the topic exchange in vCloud Director
