To use Agent Installer capabilities, you must set up remote host authentication definitions and remote host authentication rules. Use the Infrastructure Management window to manage remote host authentication.

A remote host authentication defines the mechanism and the user credential needed to access an agentless device. A remote host authentication rule matches remote host authentications with agentless devices.

Use the Infrastructure Management window to perform the following management tasks for remote host authentication and remote host authentication rules.

To update remote host authentication status

This procedure does the following:

  • For remote host authentication based on PsExec, checks the following:
    • PsExec server is not decommissioned
    • Version of the RSCD agent on the PsExec server matches what is listed in its server properties
    • Version of the RSCD agent on the PsExec server is version 8.2 or later
    • RSCD agent is running
    • PsExec command can be executed on the PsExec server
    • Designated automation principal is present
  • For remote host authentication based on SSH, confirm the presence of the designated automation principal.
