AppSight allows you to encrypt the recorded log with a symmetric key. The encryption process contains the following steps:

  1. Create a key, or assign the Recording Profile with a key of your own.
  2. Record the application. The recording results in an encrypted log file.
  3. The key is required to open the log.

To set the Recording Profile with encryption and password protection:

  1. Right-click the active session in the Black Box pane and select Recording Profile from the popup menu. The Recording Profile's screen opens.
  2. Click the Recording Profile's Security tab.
  3. Select Sign Recording Profile and enter a local key file. You can create such a file on the spot and save it to your local disk.
  4. Save the Recording Profile (optionally).
  5. Start recording.
  6. Save the recorded session into a log file. The recorded session is encrypted with the key you previously provided.

Using a Secured Recording Profile:

Opening a previously saved encrypted Recording Profile allows you to select whether to encrypt the present recording session.
