Net Send Messages alerts

You can send alert messages via the Messenger Service of your computer to any computer connected to your LAN.

When the alert is triggered, BMC AppSight sends a message containing text defined in the Message text box of the Alert dialog box. A Messenger Service dialog box delivers the message details.

To send alert messages between computers connected via the network, enter either the recipients computer name or IP address.

To define Net Send alert parameters:

1. From the Action dropdown list, choose Net send. An Address field and Message text box appear in the Alert dialog box.
2. In the Address field, type the Computer name or the IP address of the computer to whom you wish to send the alert message.
3. In the Message text box, type the required text message to appear in the Messenger Services dialog box.
4. In the Alert Message field, type the details of the alert message to be displayed in the AppSight System Console, if required.
    Select or clear the Show alert in the alerts pane check box and define the Ignore repeated alerts for... value (in seconds), as required.
