Application classes group together various categories of data in PATROL Knowledge Modules (KMs) and provide functionality in the form of parameters, menu commands, and InfoBoxes.
The following table contains a short description of each application class and a graphic of the icon that represents each application class in PATROL for Amazon Web Services:
Application name and icon | Description |
---|---|
AWS | Acts as a container for all the Amazon Web Services account instances. |
AWS_ACCOUNT | Provides data about your Amazon Web Services account. The AWS application class instance is created for each Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) account. |
AWS_EBS | Provides data for the block storage used by the application class instance AWS_EBS. This application class instance appears in a detached state under the AWS_ACCOUNT instance. When attached, this application class can also appear under an AWS_EC2 application class instance. |
AWS_EC2 | Provides data about CPU, network traffic, and disk space used by the Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_EC2 application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_EC2 instance is sometimes attached to and appears under an AWS_ELB instance, or it can appear under the AWS_ACCOUNT, when not attached to an Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) instance. |
AWS_EC2_CPU | Provides data about the CPU used by the Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_EC2_CPU application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. |
AWS_EC2_DISK | Provides data about the disk space used by the Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_EC2_DISK application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. |
AWS_EC2_NETWORK | Provides data for the network traffic used by the Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_Network application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. |
AWS_ELB | Provides data for the Elastic Load Balancer used by the Amazon EC2 instance. An AWS_ELB application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. |
AWS_RDS | Provides data for the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS). An AWS_RDS application instance is created for each Amazon EC2 instance. |
AWS_SQS | Provides data for message queues. |
AWS_SNS | Provides data about notifications. |
AWS_MEM_CACHE | Provides data about memory usage, CPU utilization, and network traffic for Cache Cluster node. This metric is measured and published for each Cache node. |
AWS_MEM_STATS | Provides data for the metrics retrieved from |
AWS_CACHE | Provides cache level metrics which are measured and published for each Cache node. |
AWS_ECN | Provides data about |
AWS_ECC | Provides data for Cache Clusters. |
