This dialog box is used to add, view, and modify the processes that are monitored by PATROL.

This dialog box is applicable to BMC PATROL Console only.

Configuration details

To access this dialog box, right-click the AIX Hosts node and select KM Commands > Processes.This dialog box contains the following items:

Description

Process List group box

This group box displays the list of process that are currently being monitored by PATROL. This group box reports the following information about the process:

  • Process Name - name of the process being monitored
  • Min - lists the minimum number of process instances that may exist
  • Max - lists the maximum number of process instances that may exist
  • Monitored Process String - lists the command or unique command string that identifies the process instance in the process list

Actions

To select an item for execution, highlight one of the following options:

  • Add New Process - launches the Add New Process (or Modify Selected Process) dialog box, which you can use to enter attributes for a new process you want to monitor
  • Modify Selected Process - launches the Add New Process (or Modify Selected Process) dialog box, which you can use to modify attributes for a process you are already monitoring You must highlight a process in the Process List group box before selecting this option.
  • Delete Selected Process - removes the selected process from monitoring You must highlight a process in the Process List group box before selecting this option.
  • Report on Selected Process - launches the Report on Process Process_Name dialog box, which lists the default attribute settings for the monitored process, and the current Local- or Group-wide process count You must highlight a process in the Process List group box before selecting this option.

Status

This group box displays a 10-line, scrolling status of the commands that you have executed via the dialog box.

OK

Click this button to execute the action that you selected in the Actions group box.

Close

Click this button to close the dialog box without performing an action.
