After you install BMC Atrium SSO and set up the user groups, you can view user information, such as the user's tenant and user group membership, from the TrueSight console. You can search for users by specifying a user group or search for user groups by specifying a user.

You cannot add or remove users or user groups from the TrueSight console.

Important considerations before you delete users, user groups, or tenants

  • When you remove a user from a user group or delete the user in BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, policies created by the user are disabled 30 minutes later. Configuration is removed from affected PATROL Agents and instances are marked for deletion.

This behavior is disabled in 10.1 Hotfix 3 and later. The policies continue to be owned by the deleted user. The Administrator can view, delete, or disable such policies but cannot update them.

To enable the original behavior, perform the following steps:

From the <Presentation Server installation directory>\truesightpserver\truesightpserver\bin folder, use a command prompt to run the following commands:

    tssh properties set syncOnSSODeleteEntityEvent true

    tssh properties reload

Before deleting users, user groups, or tenants from BMC Atrium Single Sign-On, check for and remove associations from Central Monitoring Administration policies and authorization profiles in BMC TrueSight Operations Management.

  • When you delete a user from a realm, any dashboards created by that user are deleted from the BMC TrueSight Operations Management system. However, deletion of dashboards can occur 30 minutes or longer after removal of the user.

Consider viewing the list of shared dashboards before permanently deleting users.

BMC Atrium Single Sign-On resources

You can create users in BMC Atrium SSO in the default BmcRealm tenant by logging on as the amAdmin user.

Do not include the "@" symbol in user names or tenant names. Because authentication uses the format user@tenant, an "@" symbol in the user name or tenant name causes the authentication to fail.

  • For information about creating, editing, or deleting users in the BMC Atrium SSO console, see  Managing users Open link  in the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On 9.0 documentation.
  •  To create, edit, or delete user groups in the BMC Atrium SSO console, perform the steps under Managing user groups Open link  in the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On 9.0 documentation.
