You can add, edit, and delete a group in Operations Management. You can also create a parent group and child groups under the parent group.
Perform the following steps to create a static group:
Go to Configuration > Groups and click action menu next to Group Configuration.
Note
The Create Group icon is visible only on the Manual Groups tab. You cannot perform add, update, or delete operations on synchronized groups because these groups are automatically synchronized from Infrastructure Management.
Specify information as per the following table:
Field name | Description |
---|---|
Group Name | A name for the group you are creating. The group name must be within 256 characters. |
Description | A brief description of what the group was created for. |
Parent Groups | If you want the group to be a child of another group, select the parent group. You can choose more than one parent group. |
Child Groups | If you want the group to be a parent group, select the child groups that must belong to this group. You can choose more than one child group. |
Assigned Devices | Select the devices that must be a part of the group. You can search for devices by entering a string in the Search for Device field and clicking Search. All devices that contain the string in their names are displayed. You can also select the Add All Devices check box if you want all the devices to be a part of the group. The devices that are displayed are streamed from Infrastructure Management and AppVisibility. |
Assigned Monitor Instances | Select the monitor instances that must be a part of the group. You can search for monitor instances by entering a string in the Search for Monitors field and clicking Search. All monitor instances that contain the string in their names are displayed. You can also select the Add All Monitors check box if you want all the monitor instances to be a part of the group. The monitor instances that are displayed are streamed from Infrastructure Management. |
