The Tideway Knowledge Update 2008-Sep-1 (TKU 2008 Sep) is a deliverable for Tideway Foundation platform version 7.1 and later.

Release Compatibility

TKU 2008-Sep-1 has been tested and verified against Tideway Foundation version 7.1, 7.1.5 and 7.1.6. This TKU cannot be uploaded on a version 7.0.x appliance.

*Problem:*Sybase ASE Database Server pattern in Sybase ASE module may not trigger in situations where '-e' command-line argument is not present and '-s' command-line argument is followed by a space before the server name.

Resolution: Pattern updated in TKU-2008-Sep-1. The pattern trigger regex now handles the situation where there is no whitespace between the '-s' attribute and the server instance name. Apart from the trigger, the Simple Identifier has been updated as well as the regular expression that extracts the Database Server instance name.

Resolution: Pattern updated in TKU-2008-Sep-1. Mapping table for versions updated with additional long version numbers.

*Problem:*Java VM pattern will sometimes get the version incorrect when the following
occurs:

Publisher cannot be determined (but is in fact IBM)
'-fullversion' option succeeds

If the publisher is 'IBM' the output needs to be parsed slightly differently, but a generic regular expression match is used which picks up the version incorrectly.

Resolution: Pattern updated in TKU-2008-Sep-1. Parsing of output of 'java -fullversion' expects at least major.minor version to be returned.

Notes

If you have chosen not to delete the Software Instances created using a previous TKU, for any pattern where the SI key has changed, any host where the above software instances were created will have another set of software instances created following installation of a newer TKU and re-scan. The software instances created by the previous TKU patterns will disappear once they have aged out (see Tideway Foundation documentation for description of SI aging).
