Configuring Oracle Tuxedo using Central Monitoring Administration


This topic provides information about configuring Oracle Tuxedo using Central Monitoring Administration.

On the Add Monitor Types dialog, with the Monitoring Profile set to Oracle Tuxedo, and the Monitor Type set to Tuxedo Monitoring Setup, provide the following details:

Environment Configuration

Version of Tuxedo Installed

From the following list, select the version of the Oracle Tuxedo you are using:

  • 6.5
  • 8.x 
  • 9.x or later

System Type Tuxedo Installed

From the following list, select the system type (binaries) of the Oracle Tuxedo installed on your operating system:

  • 64-bit
  • 32-bit

Tuxedo IntstanceName

Enter a unique name that identifies the Tuxedo instance you are creating.
 

The name should not have spaces.

Tuxedo Home Directory

Enter the full path where Oracle Tuxedo is installed (TUXDIR). For example, /apps3/tux65/tru64.

Tuxedo Configuration File

Enter the full path of the Tuxedo configuration file (TUXCONFIG). For example, /apps3/tux65/tru64/apps/simpapp/tuxconfig.

Tuxedo Admin. Usernme

Enter the user ID of the user who will be monitoring Tuxedo, this user ID will normally be the owner of the TUXCONFIG file. 
 

If Tuxedo is running with PeopleSoft, the ID used must be the PSTUXCFG owner; in other cases, another ID can be used but it must have read access to TUXCONFIG and its parent directories, and it must be a member of the Tuxedo Admin group. 
 

If you have a locked down environment, use a secondary group owned by the primary Tuxedo Admin group. In such a case, set the PERMS attribute in TUXCONFIG to 0660 for the primary group, granting the primary group read and execute permissions. 

Tuxedo Admin. Password

 Enter the password for the user ID entered in the previous field; this password can not begin with the zero character (0).
