Product Description

BusinessObjects Enterprise is the server-based delivery platform for Crystal Reports.

BusinessObjects Enterprise provides a framework for information delivery across the enterprise. The information can be in any form, from any place on the intranet or internet, without causing compatibility problems. The BusinessObjects Enterprise Infrastructure has an open architecture that supports any kind of information entity. In BusinessObjects Enterprise, information entities are called InfoObjects.

Each InfoObject is stored in the CMS InfoStore. Once it has been retrieved from the CMS, you can define its specific behavior through one of the BusinessObjects Enterprise Plugins. To access the properties and methods that define a particular object, you must use the Plugin interface that is provided by each plugin.
Crystal Enterprise, on which BusinessObjects Enterprise is now based, was originally developed by Crystal Decisions. Crystal Enterprise 10 was the last version, which was released a few months after the acquisition of Crystal Decisions by Business Objects. After the merge, Crystal Enterprise components have been integrated into Business Objects Enterprise XI.
