To install SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 or SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1

  1. Extract the files that you downloaded from the BMC EPD page.
    1. On a Microsoft Windows operating system, copy all the files (.exe and .rar) under a single directory. For example, SAP_BO_LINUX.

    2. Double click or run the .exe file.
All the SAP BusinessObjects installation related files and the contents of all the .rar files are extracted in a single directory with the name of the directory in digits format. For example, 51046779.

    3. Transfer this directory to a Linux system.

      Note

Do not copy the .exe or .rar files again to the Linux system.

    4. Navigate to the \<directoryOnTheLinuxSystem>\ DATA_UNITS \ BusinessObjectsServer_lnx\ directory. For example, \51046779\ DATA_UNITS \ BusinessObjectsServer_lnx\

  2. Start the installation as follows:
    • (UNIX or Linux) Run ./setup.sh.
    • (Windows) Double-click setup.exe.

If you are copying the installation files from a Microsoft Windows computer to a UNIX computer, the execute permission on the setup.sh file might change. Before installing BMC Analytics for BSM and SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, execute the following command in the directory where you have copied the files:

      • chmod 755 `find ./ -type d --name “*”`
      • chmod 755 `find ./ -type f --name “*”`
