Discovering EMC VPLEX devices
EMC VPLEX is a storage system that uses a virtualization layer between storage provider and consumers. The EMC VPLEX system is deployed as a cluster, each member of which has an engine consisting of directors and I/O infrastructure. The directors run an embedded Linux system and proprietary storage virtualization software.
BMC Helix Discovery discovers the embedded Linux system and identifies it as part of EMC VPLEX, triggering the storage patterns to fully discover the system. For information about configuring EMC VPLEX credentials, see Adding credentials.
