BMC Helix Discovery Update Calendar

This calendar describes the dates when significant enhancements or new capabilities will be launched in BMC Helix Discovery, and defines our content update strategy and bug-fix schedule. The calendar only applies to the version of BMC Helix Discovery for users of BMC Helix Portal and BMC Helix AIOps users, but not the stand-alone version. You can differentiate the two versions of BMC Helix Discovery in this way:

• If you are using an instance of BMC Helix Discovery commissioned before 1 June 2021, you are using the stand-alone version of BMC Helix Discovery and should see Recent updates for detailed information about updates and enhancements and the timing of their release.
• If you are using an instance of BMC Helix Discovery commissioned after 1 June 2021, you are using the version of BMC Helix Discovery for BMC Helix Portal and BMC Helix AIOps users and should see BMC Helix Discovery information for BMC Helix AIOps users for detailed information on updates and enhancements and the timing of their release.

Non-production first, then production

Changes are applied to non-production instances one week before they are applied to production instances. The only exception to this will be when critical security related changes, or changes required to prevent future downtime are required. In such cases all instances are updated in unison.

Significant enhancement calendar

When BMC launches significant enhancements, new features, and other major changes to BMC Helix Discovery, it does so according to the following calendar. This schedule is coordinated with other BMC Helix Services.

TKU update schedule

BMC publishes monthly TKU updates for both BMC Helix Discovery and BMC Discovery customers. The TKU updates include the BMC Discovery Outpost. For BMC Helix Discovery, each month's TKU is applied to non-production, and production instances on the dates given in the table above. 

The BMC Discovery Outpost is automatically updated by default unless you have configured manual updating. If you have configured manual updating, you should ensure that you apply the updates as soon as is practical, otherwise there could be a mismatch between BMC Helix Discovery and the BMC Discovery Outpost that might result in an incorrect model or slightly degraded discovery. Bug-fixes and minor improvements

Each week, BMC might apply bug fixes and/or minor enhancements to BMC Helix Discovery. As with other updates, non-production instances are updated first and production instances one week later. See the Helix Discovery Recent Updates page for details on what fixes are available each week.
