Discovery Condition Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHBA_2012_0188

Summary

Old versions of the netstat utility will display truncated IPv6 UDP sockets even when the "--notrim" or "-T" option was specified. This may result in erroneous network connections reported for a given discovered host.

Note that IPv6 TCP details are not impacted by this issue so the impact on overall data quality is minimal.

Resolutions

Administrators can resolve this issue by installing the Red Hat net-tools bug fix update RHBA-2012:0188-1, issued on February 20, 2012.

Subsequent scans of a Host will then report correct IPv6 UDP network details.
