Installation worksheets for BMC Digital Workplace Catalog


During the installation of BMC Digital Workplace Catalog, you will assign names to servers, databases, and user accounts. Before you start installing or upgrading, review the installation configuration options and values in the tables in this topic, and select names that align with your IT policies. You will use the values from these worksheets in your installation options text file, tenant creation text file, and BMC Digital Workplace Catalog server configuration tasks.

Follow your organization's IT policies and standards for assigning names to Linux server host names, database server credentials, and user account credentials in the following worksheets.

BMC Digital Workplace Catalog installation tenant organization parameters

You must specify a tenant domain name and obtain a license key for the Linux server on which BMC Digital Workplace Catalog will be installed.

Database server and data storage creation parameters

Complete the following worksheet to collect the information about the databases or tablespaces that will be used for the installation. A database administrator can provide the values that were used for preparing the database server as shown in the following topics.

Complete the following worksheet to collect the parameter values to install BMC Digital Workplace Catalog as a single application instance. A Linux server administrator can provide some of the values used when preparing the Linux server, as shown in the following topic.

When you install BMC Digital Workplace Catalog on multiple servers in a server group for high availability, use the information from the preceding table when installing each of the servers in the server group. However, change the values for the server-specific parameters shown in the following table to the values that are required for the secondary server.

You must also add an additional parameter to the installation options file that is used on the secondary server.

 To customize the installation, you can specify a different installation folder or port assignments.

BMC Digital Workplace Catalog uses default values for these parameters, so you do not need to change the values.
