Favorite items in the catalog

BMC Digital Workplace users can add frequently used services and knowledge articles to their favorite items list, which is available on desktop and mobile devices. The favorites section is initially named Your Favorites; however, the BMC Digital Workplace administrator can change the name in the default language, and in additional languages for supported locales.

When services can be added as a favorite item

By default, the section named Your Favorites is added as the first visible section in the catalog.Or, if a hero banner section is the first section, the favorites section is added immediately following the hero banner section.

The BMC Digital Workplace administrator can move the favorites section to appear elsewhere in the catalog, or hide the section altogether. When the administrator hides the favorites section, the capability for users to add favorite items is disabled.

When favorite items are not available

The BMC Digital Workplace administrator can hide the favorites section to prevent users from creating a favorites list. Also, as a security feature, the favorites section is hidden when a user switches the catalog view to request services as another user.
