NGT Database Performance for Db2 customization tasks

After you install and configure the Next Generation Performance Database Performance for Db2solution, you must customize the solution to operate in your environment. After you complete these post-installation tasks, the solution is ready for use.

This solution includes the following products or components:

  • BMC AMI Reorg for Db2

  • BMC AMI Stats for Db2

  • BMC AMI Utility Manager for Db2

  • SNAPSHOT UPGRADE FEATURE for Db2(SUF, also known as XBM)

Controlling access and setting user authorizations

Use the following information to set the required authorizations for the products in this solution:

Starting and stopping the UIM server

You must start the User Interface Middleware (UIM) server to enable the ISPF-Export utility for DASD MANAGER PLUS. BMC recommends that you start the UIM server automatically as part of the IPL process.

Setting the MEMLIMIT system parameter

Completing tasks specific to XBM

After you finish installing the product, you must customize XBM to operate in your environment.

Verifying the installation of the Administrative products

Perform this task to verify that ALTER, Catalog Manager, Change Manager, or DASD MANAGER PLUS been installed correctly.

The Installation System generates an installation verification procedure (IVP) job for each installed Backup and Recovery or Utility product. To help ensure that a product installed properly, we strongly recommend that you run the corresponding IVP job.
