Logging on to BMC AMI Command Center for Db2

This topic describes how to log on to BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 from your web browser.

(BMC.DB2.SPE2307) Open link If your site uses IBM Z Multi-Factor Authentication for z/OS (IBM Z MFA), you can log on to BMC AMI Command Center using the multi-factor authentication (MFA) method established for your site. 

Example

Your site uses MFA with a password and RSA SecureID to log on to BMC AMI Command Center, you must provide a user ID, password, and RSA SecureID token. In the Username field, you enter the user ID. In the Password field, you enter the password and RSA SecureID token, such as password:RSASecureID.


Before you begin

Verify that the following requirements are met:

  • The required User Interface Middleware (UIM) server is running.

  • You have an account with:

    • Authorization to access the host where the UIM server is installed

    • Suitable Db2 authorization for your requirements

  • (BMC.DB2.SPE2307) Open link You have a user ID and other authentication factors as required  by your site.
  • You know whether your UIM server uses HTTP or HTTPS. The UIM default is HTTP. To use HTTPS, you must configure the UIM server accordingly. For more information, see the following topics:

    • Creating SSL/TLS certificates for use with UIM or MainView Explorer Open link
  • You know the host name of the UIM server, and the port number on which the UIM server is listening.

  • The BMC Execution Component for z/OS (DBC) started task is running and the BMC Configuration Component for z/OS (LGC) agent is active.

  • If you are using a security package like IBM Resource Access Control Facility (RACF), or CA Technologies CA-ACF2 or CA-Top Secret, ensure that you know the ID and account details.

To log on

  1. In a web browser, enter the URL http://host:port/commandcenter/index.html. If you configured UIM for SSL/TLS access, use HTTPS instead of HTTP in the URL.

    Replace the variables host and port with the host name and port number of the UIM server.

    Tip

    To simplify future access, save the URL as a favorite or bookmark.

  2. (BMC.DB2.SPE2307) Open link Enter the following information: 

    FieldDescription

    Username

    (Required)

    Your TSO user ID

    Password

    (Required)

    One or more authentication factors. The authentication factors required depend on the requirements of your site for logging on to TSO.

    If your site does not use MFA, enter your password.

    If your site uses MFA, enter the authentication factors required by your site. For example, if your site uses only an RSA SecureID, enter an RSA Token, such as RSASecureID.

  3. Click Sign In.

    Note

    If you are inactive for 30 minutes, the BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 console times out and you must reenter your password.

  1. In a web browser, enter the URL http:// host:port /workbench/flexindex.html.

    Replace the variables host and port with the host name and port number of the UIM server.

    Tip

    To simplify future access, save the URL you used to access BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 as a favorite or bookmark (see the URL sample in step 1).

  2. In the Logon dialog box, enter your TSO user ID and password.
  3. ( Optional ) If using a security package like RACF, CA-ACF2, or CA-Top Secret, enter your group ID and account number.
  4. Click Log In.

    The Welcome screen is displayed.

    Note

    If you are inactive for 30 minutes, the BMC AMI Command Center for Db2 console times out and you must reenter your password.
