Connecting BMC ProactiveNet Data Collection Host to BMC BladeLogic

BMC ProactiveNet Data Collection Host requires a connection to BMC BladeLogic web services. Connection information is usually provided during BMC ProactiveNet Server installation, but if you installed BMC ProactiveNet Server without setting BMC BladeLogic connection information, you can establish the connection during the BMC ProactiveNet Data Collection Host installation.

In the BMC ProactiveNet Data Collection Host standalone installation, if you select Change and validate BMC BladeLogic connection information in the BMC BladeLogic Information Options window, you need to enter or update the BMC BladeLogic connection information.

To enter or update the BMC BladeLogic connection information

1. In the BMC BladeLogic Connection Information window, enter or update the required values.
   • If you connect using UDDI registry, enter the following information in the BMC BladeLogic Connection Information window:

     Field	Instruction
     UDDI user	Enter the UDDI user name.
     UDDI password	Enter the UDDI password.
     UDDI host	Enter the UDDI IP address or host name.
     UDDI port	Change the default value (7777), if necessary.
     BMC BladeLogic user	Enter a BMC BladeLogic user name with administrative privileges.
     BMC BladeLogic password	Enter the password for the user.
     BMC BladeLogic role	Change the default role (BLAdmins) if necessary.

     
     
   • If you do not connect using UDDI registry, enter the following information in the BMC BladeLogic Connection Information window:

     Field	Instruction
     BMC BladeLogic application server	Enter the BMC BladeLogic Application Server IP address or host name.
     BMC BladeLogic web service port	Change the default value (9843), if necessary.
     BMC BladeLogic user	Enter a BMC BladeLogic user name with administrative privileges.
     BMC BladeLogic password	Enter the password for the user.
     BMC BladeLogic role	Change the default role (BLAdmins) if necessary.

     
2. Click Next and continue the BMC ProactiveNet Data Collection Host standalone installation.
