Getting started

BMC Helix Cloud Cost is a SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution that enables you to promptly analyse the costs incurred while employing infrastructure provided by Cloud service providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. This section provides an overview of the tasks that you need to perform to start managing and tracking cost utilization and expenditure.

Register with BMC.

  1. Complete the BMC registration process and understand the subscription information.
  2. Get familiar with the various roles and responsibilities of BMC and customer teams.
  3. Review the activation email. The activation email includes a user name and a link to activate your account. Click Sign in to activate your account. The tenant administrator is the first user who logs in to the product. This link for setting the password remains active for 72 hours only.
  4. Enter a password to complete the registration.

Your free trial remains active for 14 days. During the trial, you get unrestricted access to all the capabilities available with the integrated products and common services.

To continue using the integrated products after the trial expires and for any other queries, contact BMC Support.

Activate the account.

  1. Click the link in the activation email and log in with the newly-created account. In BMC Helix Portal, you can view the products that you are entitled to access.
  2. In the BMC Helix Cloud Cost tile, click Launch.
