Logging support for debugging

There are two types of logs available:

  • Gateway Manager Server
  • Gateway Manager Client

Gateway Manager Server logs are located on the computer where the Gateway Server is installed:

  • (UNIX systems) $BEST1_HOME/local/manager/<consoleName>-GeneralManager.log
  • (Windows systems) %BEST1_HOME%\local\manager\log\<consoleName>-GeneralManager.log

Gateway Manager Client logs can be viewed through TrueSight Capacity Optimization. You can also specify the amount of information to be collected by specifying the logging level.

Before you begin

To access Gateway Manager from the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, you must have BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization installed and configured properly. For information about how to configure the BMC environment in the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization console, see Configuration.

To view the log and specify the logging level

  1. Click Administration > Gateway Manager.
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click View Log File.
  4. Select Low or High.
  5. Click Save.
