Remedy ITSM Suite staged upgrade process


In a staged upgrade, you set up staging servers that are clones of your current Remedy environments. In the development system, you upgrade and reconcile application customizations (overlays). While upgrading your QA system, you test the upgrade of the platform components and applications with production data and fully test the upgraded environment. In the production staging environment, you perform the final upgrade, import your reconciled application customizations, and migrate the delta data by using the Delta Data Migration tool.


 


Before you begin

Plan

Create an upgrade plan by reviewing the section Planning-an-upgrade. This document covers important upgrade decisions and considerations, such as system requirements, which upgrade method to use, and which components to upgrade.

Prepare

Complete the tasks in the Preparing section, which will help you prepare for running the upgrade installers.

Performing a staged upgrade

For best results, perform the tasks in each environment in the order listed.
