Temporarily deactivating BMC Remedy Encryption Security

If you activated BMC Remedy Encryption Security on the BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) System server, you must deactivate it before you install a product. Installing a product on an encrypted BMC Remedy AR System server is not supported.

To deactivate BMC Remedy Encryption Security

  1.  Log on to the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  2.  Open the AR System Administration Console.
  3.  Choose System > General > Server Information.
  4.  From the Server Information form, click the Encryption tab.
  5.  In the New Encryption Settings area, choose Disabled in the Security Policy list, and click Apply.
  6.  Restart the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  7.  Run the application installer.

To reactivate BMC Remedy Encryption Security after installing the application

  1.  Log on to the BMC Remedy AR System server.
  2.  Open the AR System Administration Console.
  3.  Choose System > General > Server Information.
  4.  From the Server Information form, click the Encryption tab.
  5.  In the New Encryption Settings area, choose Optional or Required in the Security Policy list, and click Apply.
  6. Restart the BMC Remedy AR System server.

Note

After the encryption is deactivated or activated, restart all the Mid Tiers connected to the encrypted AR System Servers.
