BMC Remedy ITSM postinstallation procedures

Perform the following postinstallation procedures.

Set the license tag to approve requests

After you install Remedy ITSM, two arsystem.tag files are created in C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses folder. You need to copy the license tag file located in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses\<FQDN_serverName> folder so that you can approve change requests.

Copy the arsystem.tag file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses\<FQDN_serverName> folder and replace the arsystem.tag file in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses\<short_serverName> folder.

For example, if you have installed Remedy ITSM on a server named myServer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses\myServer.bmc.com folder. Copy the arsystem.tag file and replace it in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses\myServer folder.

Run the Health Check utility

You can use the Health Check utility, which is part of the BMC Remedy ITSM Maintenance tool, to run a post-installation health check on your files.

The health check uses a bill of materials (BOM) file from each BMC Remedy ITSM application to verify that the application forms and workflows that you chose to install were installed properly. The health check reports on any parts of the product that are broken.

For more information about using the Maintenance Tool, see Collecting logs, diagnostics and performing system health check using the Maintenance Tool.
