BladeLogic Portal is a web-based user interface that provides a subset of the functionality available in BMC Server Automation. With BladeLogic Portal, IT operations users can execute common server configuration management activities, such as patching, compliance, and software deployment.  

Administrators for, and power users of, BMC Server Automation set up and configure the underlying content to be used in the portal, such as BLPackages, compliance rules, scripts, and patch catalogs. End users of the portal, such as operators, can then easily create and execute operations to accomplish their day-to-day activities. After running an operation, an end user can view the operation's results and take further actions, if necessary.
