This space contains information about the BladeLogic Portal 1.1 release.

BladeLogic Portal is a web-based user interface that provides a subset of the functionality available in the BMC Server Automation Console. Designed for end users, BladeLogic Portal lets IT operations personnel execute common server configuration management activities, such as patching, compliance, provisioning, and software deployment.

This space commonly refers to BladeLogic Portal as "the portal."

What's new

Version 1.1 of BladeLogic Portal features the following enhancements:

  • Provisioning operations—Create and run operations that perform an unattended installation of an operating system on a server. In addition, a Provisioning operation can run post-install procedures to configure the newly provisioned server by installing software, running scripts, and modifying server settings.

  • Inventory searches—Search server inventory, select a collection of target servers, and obtain detailed information about a particular target or perform an operation on the target by launching an operation wizard.

  • BladeLogic Dashboard—Launch a dashboard that provides a view into a BMC Server Automation environment and offer tips for optimizing a BladeLogic installation. BladeLogic Dashboard can also show savings an organization is experiencing by using BladeLogic.

For complete information about what's new, see  Enhancements in version 1.1.
