Log files for Windows events

When an event is logged, the event, along with the date, time, and other identifying information about the event is appended to the Windows Application Event Log file.  Windows records at least four kinds of events such as:

  • Application
  • Security
  • Setup
  • System

These event logs can be viewed in Windows Event Viewer and also in the web console through the Windows Events option. By using the event logs, you can gather information about hardware, software, and system issues and monitor Windows security events.

To view Windows events

  1. On the Welcome page, search for a device or select a device from the list of frequently selected devices.
  2. Select Actions > Windows Events.
A list of logs is displayed.

Use the filter to sort the logs based on a date range. Select the appropriate check boxes, such as Critical, Error, Warning, Information, and Others, to view a specific type of logs.
