Troubleshooting Report plug-in issues

The Report plug-in implements the Report Creator vendor form, which is used in BMC Remedy AR System reporting.

Plug-in type

Report plug-in is a C-based ARDBC plug-in.

AR System server connectivity

The AR System server interacts with the Report plug-in when an event occurs on the Report Creator form.

The Report plug-in is installed in the following location:

  • (Microsoft Windows) <ARInstallationFolder>\reportplugin.dll
  • (UNIX) <ARInstallationFolder>/bin/reportplugin.so

Configuration information

The Report plug-in is configured in the AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form.

To troubleshoot Report plug-in issues

  1. Verify the Report plug-in configuration and check whether the AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form includes the plug-in file name. See Plugin option in Configuration settings N-R.
    For example, check whether the AR System Administration: AR System Configuration Generic UI form includes the following setting:
    Plugin: reportplugin.dll
  2. Restart the AR System server. For information about restarting the plug-in server without restarting the AR System server, see Restarting the plug-in server using the Set Server Info command.
  3. If you need to investigate the issue further, you must enable server-side and plug-in logs. For more information, see Setting log files options.
  4. Troubleshoot common plug-in related issues. For more information, see General approach for troubleshooting plug-in issues.
