Oracle Listener model

The Oracle Listener manages network communications for one or more database instances. An Oracle Listener is modeled as an instance of the BMC_SoftwareServer class (derived from BMC_ApplicationSystem ) and is identified by both its Name attribute (set to Oracle Listener) and SoftwareServerType attribute (set to Other).

The following table lists the attributes that are used to model Oracle Listeners.

Attribute

Usage

Name

Identifies the Oracle Listener.

NameFormat

Defines the heuristic used to generate the Name value.

SoftwareServerType

Defines the type of server. This value must be set to Other.

ShortDescription

Defines a caption for the database.

TokenId

Specifies the unique identifier populated by BMC Discovery products and used by the Reconciliation Engine to identify instances.
