The TrueSight Operations Management solution comprises various components, such as TrueSight Presentation Server, TrueSight Infrastructure Management, and so on. Depending on your license entitlements, you can download and install the relevant components.

The installation process requires you to complete your planning activities before starting the preparatory, installation, and post-installation tasks. The installation flow diagram and the process table enable you to install the solution smoothly.

This page covers information for installing version 11.3.07. For upgrading to version 11.3.07, see Upgrading.

TrueSight Operations Management installation process — At a glance

Installation process

In a test environment, you can  Install the TrueSight Operations Management components on a single computer Open link . Follow the guidelines to avoid conflicts in the port numbers between the components.

In a production environment, follow the sequence below. If your license does not entitle you to certain components, or if you are not installing certain components, skip that step and proceed to the next.

You need to install Remedy SSO followed by the Presentation Server to create a basic setup. After that, you can install the data providers, such as Infrastructure Management, App Visibility manager, etc., based on your license entitlements to complete the solution installation.

Step 3: Install Remedy Single Sign-On

Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO) acts as the authentication tool to manage tenants (realms), user groups, and users for TrueSight Presentation Server and other TrueSight components.

Remedy SSO can be installed using the Remedy SSO installer.

You can install Remedy Single Sign-On in standalone or high-availability mode. Both these options are available in wizard-based and silent modes.

Installation of Remedy SSO is done in two phases:

  • Phase A: Installation of the Remedy SSO component
  • Phase B: Setting up the Remedy SSO server

TrueSight Operations Management 11.3.07 is compatible with Remedy SSO version 9.1.04 and later.

Phase A – Install using the Remedy SSO installer

For information on installing Remedy SSO, go to, search for Remedy SSO, and click the version that you want to install.

You can find install-related information in the Installing branch.

Phase B – Set up the Remedy SSO server

To configure general settings, export and import Remedy SSO configurations, and view session details, see the documentation for the specific Remedy SSO version that you installed.

Step 4: Install TrueSight Presentation Server

The TrueSight Presentation Server provides the framework and console for all TrueSight Operations Management implementations. The TrueSight Presentation Server hosts the web-based TrueSight console, and consumes data from various TrueSight components to provide a consolidated set of views for monitoring infrastructure, real and synthetic applications, and capacity planning. It also enables you to perform functions such as role-based access control and data management.

As the Presentation Server forms the hub of the operations management environment, you must install it before installing the other licensed components.

You can install the Presentation Server in a standalone or high-availability mode. Both these options are available in wizard-based and silent modes.

Phase A – Install Presentation Server using one of these options

Standalone mode

High-availability mode

Phase B – Optionally configure disaster recovery after installation using one of these options

Step 5: Install TrueSight Infrastructure Management (if licensed)

TrueSight Infrastructure Management provides an integrated platform for service availability and performance management of your IT environment.

Infrastructure Management Server can be installed with the Oracle database.

You can install Infrastructure Management Server in a standalone, high-availability, or OS cluster mode. The standalone option is available in wizard-based and silent modes.

Installation of Infrastructure Management is done in three phases:

Phase A: Installation of Infrastructure Management Server

Phase B: Installation of the Integration Service and Remote Cell

Phase C: Setting up the Infrastructure Management environment, which involves three tasks

Phase A – Install Infrastructure Management Server using one of these options

Standalone mode

Application high-availability mode

High-availability OS cluster mode

Disaster recovery mode

Phase B – Install Integration Service and Remote Cell using one of these options

Phase C – Set up the Infrastructure Management environment

Step 6: Install TrueSight App Visibility Manager (if licensed)

TrueSight Application Visibility Manager enables application monitoring so that IT Operations can proactively detect and isolate application performance issues from the end-user perspective before they negatively impact business reputation and revenue.

The Application Visibility Manager and Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) agent licenses are separate. The Application Visibility Manager license does not entitle the TEA Agent license, and vice-versa.

TrueSight Application Visibility Manager has two components:

  • App Visibility server: Provides the infrastructure to proactively analyze data received from monitored applications and end user's browsers.
You can install the App Visibility server in a standalone or high-availability mode. Both these options are available in wizard-based and silent modes.
  • Agents: Capture transactions that have latency violations or errors.

Based on your environment, you can install App Visibility agents for Java or .NET to capture information about application transactions from an application server JVM or from Internet Information Services (IIS) worker processes respectively.

The Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) agent monitors the performance and reliability of applications through synthetic (also called robotic ) transactions. If you wish to do synthetic monitoring, install a TEA agent in wizard-based or silent mode.

Installation of Application Visibility Manager is done in two phases:

  • Phase A: Installation of the App Visibility server
  • Phase B: Installation of the Synthetic TEA Agent

TrueSight Application Visibility Manager 11.3.03 and TEA Agent 11.3.03 are the latest versions of the components and they are compatible with TrueSight Operations Management 11.3.07.

Phase A – Install App Visibility Server using one of these options

Standalone mode

High-availability mode

(Optional) Disaster recovery mode

Phase B – Install the Synthetic TEA Agent

Step 7: Install TrueSight IT Data Analytics (if licensed)

TrueSight IT Data Analytics provides a data mining framework for semi-structured and structured machine data such as logs and events.

TrueSight IT Data Analytics can be installed in single server or multiple server environments.

You can install the product using the wizard-based or the silent mode.

In a single server environment, you can perform a Typical or a Custom installation. In a multiple server environment, you must perform a Custom Installation, which allows you to authenticate users using Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO).

TrueSight IT Data Analytics version 11.3.02 is the latest version of the component and is compatible with TrueSight Operations Management 11.3.07.

Install using one of these options

Single server environment

Multiple server environment

Step 8: Complete the post-installation activities

Complete the post-installation activities to make your TrueSight Operations Management solution functional.
