Adapter limitations for BMC Performance Manager Portal

This topic was edited by a BMC Contributor and has not been approved.  More information.

The following limitations apply to BMC Performance Manager Portal:

  • Some of the performance metrics returned might have values greater than the maximum value of an integer. If this occurs, incorrect statistical values will be collected.
  • Performance parameters other than numeric (such as Boolean and text) are not imported into Infrastructure Management.
  • When you delete an element in BMC Performance Manager Portal, but the device created for this element in Infrastructure Management did not get deleted and attempt to create the same element in BMC Performance Manager Portal, assuming that the device is still included in the BMC Performance Manager Portal adapter device filter, the monitor instances for this device will not be created. To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
    1. In Infrastructure Management, delete the device manually. If it is a BMC CMDB synced device, then to delete the device, perform the following steps:

      1. Set PublishToSIM flag of the computer system configuration item (CI) to No in CMDB and publish it to Infrastructure Management.

      2. If the corresponding device does not have monitor instances, it will be deleted. Otherwise delete the device manually.

    2. Edit the BMC Performance Manager Portal adapter and include the device that you had deleted in step 1.
