Uninstalling the TEA Agent

You can uninstall the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agent from your computer by using the wizard or silently.

To uninstall the Transaction Execution Adapter Agent using the wizard

  1. Log in to the host computer as a user with administrator privileges.
  2. To start the uninstallation utility, perform one of the following steps:
    • From the installation directory of the specific agent, run uninstall.exe.
      The default installation directory is one of the following, according to your system:
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\BMCTEAAgent

      • C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCTEAAgent

    • From Control Panel > Programs and Features, select to uninstall the agent, BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agent 11.3.0 Install x. The variable x represents the installation number. The first agent installation is number 1, the second is number 2, and so on.

      Note

      In some versions of Windows, the file path of the selected item is displayed in the comments section at the bottom of the window.

      If the file path is not displayed in the comments section, view the Programs and Features list by Details, and then add the Location column.

  3. On the Welcome page of the utility, click Next.
  4. On the feature selection page, select to uninstall the BMC Synthetic Transaction Execution Adapter Agent and click Next.
  5. On the Uninstallation Preview page, click Uninstall.
    One of the following responses occurs:
    • Uninstall begins.
    • Uninstall cannot begin because the TEA Agent is running. Click Previous and wait for the TEA Agent to stop (or manually stop the TEA Agent) before proceeding.
  6. On the Uninstallation Summary page, click View Log to examine the log, then click Done to exit the utility.

  7. Verify that the TEA Agent is uninstalled by examining the TEAAgent_uninstall_log.txt file. You can also verify that the service no longer appears in the Windows Services console.

To uninstall the Transaction Execution Adapter Agent silently

If you want to remove more than one TEA Agent, run the silent uninstallation separately for each agent, modifying the installation directory for each one.

  1. Log in to the host computer as a user with administrator privileges.
  2. From a command prompt, run the silent uninstallation from the TEA Agent installation directory using the following command:

    uninstall.exe -i silent -DOPTIONS_FILE=<installationDirectory>TEAAgent-silent-option-uninstall.txt

    By default, the <installationDirectory> is one of the following, according to your system:

    • C:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\BMCTEAAgent

    • C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCTEAAgent

    One of the following responses occurs:

    • You receive a message that uninstall completed successfully.
    • Uninstall cannot begin because the TEA Agent is running. Wait for the TEA Agent to stop (or manually stop the TEA Agent) before running the command again.
  3. Verify that the TEA Agent is uninstalled by examining the TEAAgent_uninstall_log.txt file. You can also verify that the service no longer appears in the Windows Services console.
