Uninstalling IT Data Analytics

You can uninstall TrueSight IT Data Analytics using the wizard or silently.

This topic contains the following information:

To uninstall using the wizard

  1. Log in as the Administrator (for Windows) or root user (for Linux).
  2. Launch the uninstallation wizard using one of the following methods:
      • (Windows
        1. From the Control Panel, select Programs and Features.
        2. Right-click TrueSight IT Data Analytics 11.3.01 and select Uninstall.
      • (Windows

        1. Navigate to the <IT Data Analytics Installation Directory>\UninstallBMCITDA directory.
        2. Run the uninstall.exe command.
      • (Linux)

        1. Set the DISPLAY environment variable.
        2. Navigate to the <IT Data Analytics Installation Directory>/UninstallBMCITDA directory
          Default directory: /opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/UninstallBMCITDA
        3. Run the command: ./uninstall.bi
  3. Select the components that you want to uninstall and click Next.

  4. The Uninstallation Preview screen is displayed.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. (Optional) To see the uninstallation details, click View Log.
  7. Click Done to complete the uninstallation.
  8. Verify that the relevant product files are deleted by navigating to the directory where you had installed the product.
  9. (Windows): Navigate to Start > Run > services.msc and verify that all the product services have stopped.

  10. Navigate to the Administration > Components page, and delete the uninstalled components entries by running the  deletecomponents CLI command Open link .

To uninstall silently

  1. Log in to the computer from which you want to uninstall the product.
  2. Locate the options file that you want to use for uninstallation, and perform one of the following actions:
    • If you had performed a typical installation, use the sample options file for uninstalling the entire product.

      -(Windows) Uninstall Windows sample options file.txt
      -(Linux) Uninstall Linux sample options file.txt

    • If you had performed a custom installation, locate the options file that you created during the installation process and change all -A parameters (used for installation) to -U parameters (for uninstallation).

  3. Run the following command to complete the uninstallation:
    uninstall -silent -DOPTIONS_FILE=pathToOptionsFile
    where pathToOptionsFile is the location where the options file exists.
  4. Verify that all the product files are deleted by navigating to the Program Files folder.
  5. (Windows): Navigate to Start > Run > services.msc and verify that all the product services have stopped.
  6. Navigate to the Administration > Components page, and delete the uninstalled components entries by running the  deletecomponents CLI command Open link .
