To configure the TrueSight App Visibility Manager in a high-availability and disaster recovery mode

Every installation of the App Visibility is disaster-recovery ready. Therefore, you do not need any configuration on the primary TrueSight App Visibility Manager.

You need to configure the recovery servers only. To do this, perform the following tasks:

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you have installed or configured the Presentation Server in a high-availability disaster recovery mode using the following instructions before configuring the TrueSight App Visibility Manager disaster recovery mode. Configuring the Presentation Server in the high-availability and disaster recovery mode.
  • Ensure that TrueSight App Visibility Manager in installed in the high-availability mode at the primary site and the recovery site with the same database name. You must also ensure that both the primary and secondary computers are installed on the same platform and are using the same ports and operating system locale.
  • Go to the recovery site and stop the primary computer and the secondary computer.

Step A: Configure the primary computer on the recovery site

  1. On the recovery site, primary computer, take a backup of the files and folders mentioned in Preparing to apply feature packs or fix packs on Infrastructure Management Open link . Ensure that you save them with different names.

  2. Installing the App Visibility server in the high-availability mode using the wizard. Open link  or  Installing the App Visibility server in the high-availability mode silently. Open link
  3. Start the App Visibility Manager and its components. See  Starting and stopping the TrueSight Operations Management components. Open link
  4. Start the Presentation Server by running this command: tssh server start skipHACheck.

Step B: Configure the secondary computer on the recovery site

  1. On the recovery site, secondary computer, take a backup of the files and folders mentioned in  Preparing to apply feature packs or fix packs on Infrastructure Management Open link . Ensure that you save them with different names.

  2. Installing the App Visibility server in the high-availability mode using the wizard. Open link  or  Installing the App Visibility server in the high-availability mode silently. Open link
  3. Start the App Visibility Manager and its components. See  Starting and stopping the TrueSight Operations Management components. Open link
  4. Start the Presentation Server by running this command: tssh server start

Next step in the Installation process

Now that you have successfully configured the App Visibility server in a HA and DR mode, you must install the applicable App Visibility agent.
