Installing Infrastructure Management components
You can install Infrastructure Management components as an administrator or a non-administrator user. If you are using a non-administrator user for installation, make sure the non-administrator user is a part of the Administrator group. You can perform the following types of installations when installing Infrastructure Management components:
If you are upgrading from BMC Impact Solutions, ProactiveNet, or from an earlier version of TrueSight Infrastructure Management, see Upgrading.
Note
TrueSight Infrastructure Management does not support installation using the Command Line Interface (CLI) interactive mode.
Before you begin
- Conduct a deployment architecture and scalability assessment before installing the solution. For information, see Planning the Infrastructure Management deployment.
- Review the steps required to install the Infrastructure Management components.
- Complete the preinstallation activities.
Wizard-based installations
1. Install Infrastructure Management Server:
- Installing the Infrastructure Management Server on Microsoft Windows with SAP SQL Anywhere
- Installing the Infrastructure Management Server on Microsoft Windows with Oracle
2. Verify the Infrastructure Management Server installation.
3. Apply Infrastructure Management license.
4. Install Integration Service and Cell:
- Installing multiple Integration Services on a single computer (Microsoft Windows)
- Verifying that the Integration Service is running on Microsoft Windows
5. Register the Infrastructure Management Server with the Presentation Server.

- Installing the Infrastructure Management Server on Linux with SAP SQL Anywhere
- Installing the Infrastructure Management Server on Linux with Oracle
2. Verify the Infrastructure Management Server installation.
3. Apply Infrastructure Management license.
4. Install Integration Service and Cell:
- Installing multiple Integration Services on a single computer (Linux)
- Verifying that the Integration Service is running on Linux
5. Register the Infrastructure Management Server with the Presentation Server.
