Applying private certificates to Synthetic TEA Agents
By default, the Transaction Execution Adapter (TEA) Agents use pregenerated, self-signed certificates for authentication with App Visibility Manager. You can use your own private certificates.
You can update certificates before you install TEA Agents, or you can update certificates on TEA Agents that you already installed.
- To update certificates before installing TEA Agents, follow the instructions in To add private certificates in the TEA Agent installation utility.
- To update certificates for previously installed TEA Agents, follow the instructions in To replace security files on previously installed TEA Agents.

Where to go from here
After you apply certificates between the App Visibility server components and the Synthetic TEA Agent, you can explore if you need to implement certificates in other components. For information, see Implementing private certificates in TrueSight Operations Management.
