Uninstalling the standalone Collection Agent
This topic describes the steps for uninstalling the standalone Collection Agent directly (by running the uninstallation program) and silently.
To uninstall the standalone Agent directly
- Log on as the Administrator (for Windows) or root (for Linux) user.
Navigate to the directory where you installed the standalone Collection Agent.
Examples
- Windows: %BMC_ITDA_HOME%\agent\UninstallBMCAgent
- Linux: $BMC_ITDA_HOME/agent/UninstallBMCAgent
- Run uninstall.exe (for Windows) or uninstall.bin (for Linux). Click Next.
- Select Uninstall Collection Agent 2.7.00. Click Next.
The UninstallationPreview screen is displayed. - Click Uninstall.
- (Optional) To see the uninstallation details, click View Log.
- To exit the uninstallation program, click Done.
To uninstall the standalone Agent silently
- Log on to the computer from which you want to uninstall the standalone Collection Agent.
- Locate the options file that you want to use for the uninstallation, and perform one of the following actions:
Depending on your platform, use the following sample options file for uninstalling the standalone Collection Agent.
- Locate the options file that you created during the installation process and change all
-A
switches (used for installation) to-U
switches (for uninstallation). - Generate an options file for uninstalling the standalone Collection Agent. For more information, see Installing the standalone Collection Agent silently.
- Run the following command:
uninstall -silent -DOPTIONS_FILE=
pathToOptionsFile
wherepathToOptionsFile
is the location path where the options file exists.
