Integrating with HP OpenView to integrate Infrastructure Management traps into Network Node Manager

You can use HP OpenView in conjunction with the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server and Proactive Remote Agent (UNIX). HP OpenView integrates Infrastructure Management traps into Network Node Manager (NNM). The traps are correctly formatted and displayed in the Event Console. All Infrastructure Management traps are seen under the Pronto Proactive Events category. It also allows you to launch Infrastructure Management from the pop-up menu as well as the menu bar. MIB for the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server is also loaded so that you can use the MIB browser and navigate down BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server MIB.

  • The correct version of HP OpenView Network Node Manager must be installed on a supported version of HP-UX. To view a list supported versions, see Supported Infrastructure Management integrations with other products Open link in the BMC TrueSight Operations Management Deployment documentation.
  • For a status change to be reflected when a Infrastructure Management event is received, a read-write enabled Open View Map must be opened on the computer where the Infrastructure Management Integration package has been installed. For installation and uninstallation, it is not necessary that Open View Map be open.
