Modifying and deleting service model data

For published service model data, changes and deletions are restricted to the original source of the data. Objects delivered to the cell from BMC Atrium CMDB must be edited and deleted in BMC Impact Model Designer (or BMC Atrium CMDB) and objects from the CLI command pposter must be changed and deleted by using a BAROC source file and pposter.

Published data is protected from modification or deletion by any form of Direct Feed. In other words, while published components are visible in Infrastructure Management, you cannot change or delete them with a rule or the mposter command.

If you first create a CI via a pposter and later publish that CI (same ComponentAlias) from BMC Atrium CMDB, then the DirectPublish CI is replaced by a BMC Atrium CMDB CI. If you first create a CI from publish from BMC Atrium CMDB then try to modify it via pposter, this fails because the DirectPublish environment is not the source of the CI.
