Infrastructure Management Data Collection Host overview
Infrastructure Management Data Collection Host is a dedicated resource that collects metric data from devices (including virtual machine monitors, clusters, and host servers), and sends the data to BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server for analysis. Collected data includes CPU usage, memory usage, and data that is specific to the host operating system.
The data collection host is comprised of the following components
- Infrastructure Management Integration Service
- BMC PATROL Agents
- BMC Performance Manager for Virtual Servers , which includes monitoring solutions for VMware vSphere and Citrix XenServer.
Implementation of the Infrastructure Management Data Collection Host uses the following arrangement of components:
- Each Child Server in the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management environment requires at least one Infrastructure Management Data Collection Host.
- The data collection host is comprised of the Integration Service and up to three BMC PATROL Agents.
- Each BMC PATROL Agent uses BMC Performance Manager for Virtual Servers Monitoring Solution to collect data from devices.
