Statistics polling options

Collect Data

Select or clear check box to enable or disable data collection for the monitored component. By default, data collection is enabled (check box selected).

Poll Interval (min)

Specify the time interval between two consecutive statistical data polls. Default is 5 minutes.

Poll Timeout (min)

Specify the timeout period for each poll of statistical data. If no data is available at the end of this interval, the system records zero availability and proceeds with the next scheduled poll. Default is 2 minutes.

Number of Retries

Specify the number of consecutive unsuccessful attempts for recording zero availability for the poll. Default is 1.

Retry Wait (sec)

Specify the time interval between two consecutive attempts of a single poll. Default is 20 seconds.
The Web Transaction monitor follows a staggered retry approach. In this approach, each retry poll is staggered by 10 seconds from the previous poll. For example, if Retry count = 3 and Retry Wait = 5 sec, then
Retry Wait between poll 0 and Retry 1 = 5 sec
Retry Wait between Retry 1 and Retry 2 = 15 sec
Retry Wait between Retry 2 and Retry 3 = 25 sec
The actual poll time will be as follows:
poll 0 end time  ----- t0
retry 1 start time ---- t0 + 5
retry 2 start time ---- (retry1 end time) + 15
retry 3 start time ----- (retry 2 end time) + 25

Page capturing option

Capture Page on Failure

Select this check box to capture the page in which the error (if any) has occurred during polling. The captured error page can be viewed with the More Info option in the Operations Console.

Group tab

Group Membership

This enables you to add a device and its monitors to one or more groups. Optionally, you can associate the device with a group. A group is used to logically organize the devices and monitors by department, geographic area, or service. Assigning a device to a group also enables the system administrator to restrict or allow access to certain devices. To associate the device with a group, select the group name from here.
