Updating catalogs after migration to 8.2 SP1
Version 8.2 SP1 introduces some changes to catalogs on Microsoft Windows and IBM AIX operating systems. After you migrate catalogs on Windows or AIX to version 8.2 SP1, you must update the catalogs before executing Patching, Remediation, or Deploy Jobs that contain them.
For Windows catalogs, after you upgrade the Agent on the helper server of the Windows Catalog to version 8.2 SP1, BMC recommends that you execute the Update Server Properties Job on the helper server.
Online mode
To update Windows or AIX catalogs in Online mode, execute the corresponding Catalog Update Jobs as follows:
On the BMC Server Automation Console, right-click the patch catalog and select Update Catalog.
Offline mode (Windows catalogs)
To update Windows catalogs in Offline mode, perform the following actions:
- From the source repository, execute the 8.2 SP1 Windows downloader.
- From the pre-8.2 SP1 catalogs, replace the CAB files with the following CAB files that were downloaded in step 1:
- hf7b.cab
- pd5.cab
- On the BMC Server Automation Console, right-click the patch catalog and select Update Catalog.
Offline mode (AIX catalogs)
To update AIX catalogs in Offline mode, perform the following action:
On the BMC Server Automation Console, right-click the patch catalog and select Update Catalog.
